Thelma loved God, loved her family, loved life, loved to laugh and loved helping others. She was a selfless person, consistently putting the needs of others above her own.
Thelma graduated from La Feria High School in 1955. After that she met her first love Morgan Groves, and they would later marry and make their home in Robstown, Texas. During this time, she had three beautiful daughters and was blessed to stay home and raise them. Later in life, Thelma remarried and was provided the opportunity to load up "The Van” and travel the US on many different occasions. She loved navigating through the mountains where inevitably, the brakes would always go out, giving her the chance to share her story.
It was at this time in her life that her grandchildren also kept her busy. She loved watching and hearing about their various school and 4H activities. She would bake them cakes for their birthdays, threw amazing Christmas parties for the grandkids and always made sure they each got to spend a week with her in the summer. She truly loved each and every one of them to the fullest.
Thelma lived for her daily outings to Wal-Mart. She didn’t care if she needed to buy anything or not, it was the trip out of the house she looked forward to.
Thelma had a big heart for family. She loved for the family to gather at her house for every occasion. She didn’t care if it was a birthday party, holidays, reunion or just because she loved people at her house. She also always had the best snacks! Thelma took care of numerous brothers and sisters as well as her mother in their final moments. She never thought twice about it.
