Thomas Menchaca Jr.

Thomas M. Menchaca Jr. age 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Thomas was born on October 8, 1950 in San Saba, Texas to Thomas M. Menchaca Sr. and Mary (Martinez). Thomas graduated from San Saba High school in 1969 and was a member of the San Saba Armadillo Football team that reached the State Quarter Finals in 1968. He married the love of his life Janie Torres on May 24, 1972. Thomas worked as a machine shop supervisor for 3M Corporation in Brownwood, Texas until his retirement in 2006. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Janie Menchaca of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, Chris Martinez and wife Sylvia and Thomas Gilbert Salinas; three daughters, Stella Orozco and husband Juan, Teresa Boisse and husband T. J. and Elena Martinez and husband Michael; two sisters: Esther Cisneroz and husband Pedro, Cynthia Creek and husband Larry; two brothers: Richard Menchaca and wife Tani and Robert Menchaca and wife Sylvia; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Rosary will be recited at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. A visitation/rosary will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 A. M at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in San Saba, Texas with Father Javier Toscano officiating. Interment will follow at San Saba Cemetery. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba in charge of arrangements.
