Van Allen Fielding

Corpus Christi

Van Allen Fielding, 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 26, 2025.

Born on November 1, 1955, in Corpus Christi to Frank and Mary Helen Fielding, Van was a lifelong resident who deeply loved his family and community.

A proud 1974 graduate of Roy Miller High School, Van was known for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and the joy he found in everyday moments—whether working in his yard or taking rides in his beloved little red Jeep. He had a special gift for making people smile and was often the life of the party, lighting up every room he entered. Van had a deep love for old-time country music and never missed a chance to dance and enjoy good times with friends and family. His spirit, humor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He began working at a young age at the Corpus Christi Grain Exchange and went on to work for Haliburton, Nowsco, Transamerican, CC Crane, and I.E. Miller. For the past 20 years, he was employed with Gulf Coast Crane Services in Corpus Christi, Tx, where he eventually retired.

Van is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Fielding Sr. and Mary Helen (Cox); sister-in-law, Judy Fielding; nephew, Loren Fielding; and father-in-law, Robert Knippa Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Tamela Fielding; daughter, Amy (Rey Sr.) Rodriguez, children Elizabeth (Roman), Heather (Al), and Rey Jr. along with grandchildren, Jackson, Taos, Wyatt and Cain. Daughter, Carly (Wade) Scull; and grandchildren, Haydenn, K’Lynn and Jace. Mother-in-law, Charlotte Collins-Knippa. He also leaves behind his three brothers, Frank Jr. (Linda), Bobby, and Jimmie (Babette); brothers-in-law, Robert Jr. (Stacy) and Raymond (Sheryl); along with numerous, wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Choice Hospice of Corpus Christi for their compassionate care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

We will love and miss you “forever more”.
