William Thomas “Bill” Simmons, 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. He was born February 7, 1954 in Brownwood, Texas to Porter Nathaniel Simmons and Nina Pearl Jacobs Simmons. He was the Pastor of River Hills Baptist Church in Calallen since 1985. Bill was saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. He was a faithful preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and currently is with Christ, which is far better.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Simmons; his son, Jody (Katherine) Simmons; his daughter, Mariann (Micah) Herrington; his grandchildren, Caleb, Porter and Anna Kate Simmons, Hudson and Finley Herrington; his brother, Robert (Brenda) Simmons; his mother-in-law, Bernice Maddox; his brothers-in-law, Tommy (Kay) Maddox and Jimmy (Beverly) Maddox; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 18, 2021 at River Hills Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2021 at River Hills Baptist Church with Jody Simmons officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Chadwick Cemetery near Lometa, Texas.
