Yvonne Marie Burkhardt of Robstown, TX passed away Aug. 30, 2026. She was born Nov. 16, 1948 in Port Arthur, TX to James Terry and Elizabeth Terry, who preceded her in death.

Yvonne was always ready and excited to help out with the family farm operation, and always enjoyed watching the crops grow from start to finish.

An avid reader, Yvonne spent lots of time discussing books with members of her book club, and had an extensive library including fiction and non fiction works across a diverse range of subjects.

Her involvement with dog rescue led her to adopt many beloved pets, including Jack Russell terriers Gracie and Jazz, and lovable beagle-dachsund mix Rocky. She had a large network of animal lovers who she would correspond with often to help locate lost pets and to re-home strays.

She is survived by her husband Fred Burkhardt Jr., her son Fred Burkhardt III, daughter-in-law Nyssa Burkhardt and grandchildren Asher and Aveyn Burkhardt; her son by a previous marriage, Rod Anderson; and her brother Andy Terry and his family, including his wife Georgia Terry, their children Jennifer Burns (and husband Wes Burns) and Chuck Terry, and grandchildren Ainsley Burns and Jon Burns.

She cherished her relationships with her in-laws and friends, including her long-running pen pal in Scotland. She is remembered for her devotion to her children and grandchildren, her gentle nature, patience and for her kind heart.

Services will take place at St. Anthony Church in Violet, TX on Sept. 19, 2026, starting at 9 a.m
