Zelda Brittain

Zelda Merle Brittain, age 93, of Bishop, Texas passed away January 22, 2019 in Robstown, Texas. She was born December 6, 1925 in Robstown, Texas to Richard Eric and Charlotte Josephine Coats. She was a Charter Member of Central Baptist Church in Robstown, Texas and is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Bishop, Texas. She loved to sew, cook, paint and especially enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years George Brittain, Jr. and is survived by her son, Martin Brittain of Bishop, Texas; daughter, Ann (Wayne) Bowers of Bishop, Texas; grandchildren, Leslie (Will) Lewis, Britt (Elizabeth) Bowers; great grandchildren, Lindsay, Alyssa, and Emily Lewis, Quinton, Brittain , Connor, Chase, Lauren and Tyler Bowers; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel with Pastor Will Lewis and Pastor Clif Abshier officiating. Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Martin Brittain, Britt Bowers, Quinton Bowers, Brittain Bowers, Connor Bowers, Chase Bowers and Tyler Bowers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lindsay Lewis, Alyssa Lewis, Emily Lewis and Lauren Bowers. The family expressed grateful appreciation to the many caregivers for assistance provided over the past three years. The family is especially appreciative of the care, love, and support provided by Yvonne Arriaga and Annabel Rodriguez.
