Billy Joe "Bud" Brown, 89, passed away on April 16, 2021. He was born in Three Rivers, TX on September 22, 1931 to Thomas E. Brown and Dorthea Brown.

He graduated in 1948 from Agua Dulce High School at age 15 and went to Del Mar College on a football scholarship. In the summer of 1949, he went to work at Southern Minerals as a Roustabout, then was promoted through several positions until 1972 when Sun Terminals Inc. bought them out. Billy was also a member of the RTFC. From 1972-1984, he was promoted to Supervisor over the Sun Deep Sea Terminal and Ingleside Terminal and was transferred to Enid, Oklahoma, where he was the Supervisor over all field operations. Billy was transferred to Seminole, Oklahoma, where he would fulfill the duties as a General Manager over all operations. He retired at age 60 and moved back to Corpus Christi, Texas.

Billy had been with the love of his life, Velma Brown, since she was 15 years old. They got married on March 17, 1951 and just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Jewel Kelley and brother, Robert Thomas Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Velma Brown; one daughter, Diana Pugh (Bill); one son, Buster Brown (Mecia); grandchildren, Zane Pugh, Brittany McDonald and Brooke McArthur and six great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 2:00PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.

The pallbearers for the services are: Bill Pugh, Zane Pugh, Norman McDonald, Justin McArthur, Fred Hopper and Bryan Poche.
