Clyde David Jauer, age 94, of Robstown, Texas passed away on June 22, 2021. Clyde was in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family and friends who loved and adored him.
Clyde was born on February 8, 1927 in Scurry County, Texas. Following high school, at the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy and is a veteran of WWII. Clyde worked for several oil & gas companies through the years, becoming a Senior Vice President for Valero. After retiring from Valero he formed his own company, Gas Marketing & Transportation (GMT). He served on the Calallen School Board and became a full time cattle rancher after retirement, which he tremendously enjoyed.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe & Marie; his beautiful daughter Kathy; and his siblings Rose, Marion, Monroe Jr., Wilma, and Velma.
Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife of 72 years Florene “Tootie” Worden Jauer; and son Rick Jauer (Susan) of George West. Siblings include Pauline, Buddy & Frances. Clyde had 3 grandsons that he was very proud of: Brad Jauer (Valerie), Kelby Jauer (Sara), and Heath Jauer (Ari). He was blessed with 7 great-grandchildren: Logan, Kennedy, Toby, Kylie, Kinsler, Paisley, and Blakeley Jauer.
He will always be remembered for his signature cowboy hat and boots, sweet tooth for desserts, ranching and raising cattle, and his love for baseball & the Dallas Cowboys. He never missed his chance to visit the ranch, riding around and enjoying the South Texas wildlife & landscape with his family.
Clyde will be surrounded by family and friends to celebrate his life on Thursday, June 24, 2021. The 10:00am service will be held at the Graveside at Memorial Park Cemetery at 4607 CR 1889 in Robstown, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Clyde’s memory to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Or a donation to plant a tree in his honor at www.alivingtribute.org.
