Edmund Eugene (Eddie Gene) Hoelscher, 78 passed away on August 22, 2021, at his residence in Violet, TX. He was born on May 1st, 1943, to Karl and Alma Hoelscher in Violet, Tx. He graduated from Robstown High School. After high school he went into the National Guard for 1 ½ years. He worked for 22 yrs. at Asarco and then went into farming for Billy Bernsen where he retired after many, many years and was also President of the Violet Historical Society for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Alma Hoelscher Sr.; sister, Florine Dittlinger; 2 brothers, Gerald Hoelscher and Farreol Hoelscher Sr., and 2 nephews, Glen Dittlinger and Farreol Hoelscher, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Hershman Hoelscher and his 2 children, Robin Pitts (John) and Edmund (Eddie) Hoelscher; 8 grandchildren: Tabitha Story (Josh), Robert Pitts, Austin Hoelscher (Lindie), Hailley Herrera (Alex), Alycen Hoelscher; 2 great grandchildren, Kourtnie Bird and Jaxon Hoelscher. He also leaves behind 6 siblings, Eileen Ladd, Karl Hoelscher (Marie), Marian Unterbrink (Gerald), Jeron Hoelscher, Cyril Hoelscher (Kathy) and Norbert Hoelscher (Barbara) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews along with numerous family and friends.
Viewing and Rosary will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Violet, TX on August 27, 2021 starting at 5:00 PM and the Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on August 28, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
