Jose Angel Vallejo, Jr., 73, died Friday, November 4, 2022, surrounded with his family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1949, in Hebbronville, Texas, and lived in Corpus Christi most of his life.
Jose Angel attended Tuloso-Midway School and worked in the pipeline industry all of his adult life. Jose Angel was a big fan of the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys and watching wrestling on TV. He enjoyed going on cruises and gambling casinos, but he will be best remembered as the BBQ master of his family while listening to his favorite Tejano music.
Jose Angel is preceded in death by his son, Ernest Lee; his parents, Jose Angel Vallejo, Sr. and Benigna G. Vallejo. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Jose Luis; and two sisters, Rosalinda and Yolanda.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Vallejo; two children, Jannie and Jose Angel Vallejo, III; five stepchildren, Ramon, Oscar and Samuel Garcia, Jennifer Villareal, and Becky Ramirez. Jose Angel is also survived by three brothers, Arturo, Richard, and Juan Vallejo; and three sisters, Jannie Thomas, Mary Ann Vallejo, and Rachel Perales. He also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. May he rest in peace.
