Mildred E. Kuzniar

December 15, 1930 — January 14, 2022

Corpus Christi

Mildred Ethel Kuzniar 91 of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2022.  Mildred was born December 15,1930 in Panola Mississippi to Frank and Ethel Smith.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.

Mildred grew up in Mississippi and later moved to Santa Rosa Texas.  There she met and married the love of her life, Walter G. Kuzniar, and the couple started their family. Later the family moved from Santa Rosa to Portland and then to Corpus Christi Texas.

Mildred was a telephone company operator, a member of CWA-local 2038, and a teacher’s aide for several years before establishing her career in real estate sales. She received numerous awards and was recognized many times for top sales in her region.

Mildred was a compassionate loving person who was always willing to help family and friends and was the sole caregiver for many family members during her lifetime. She provided much needed love and stability to these loved ones during challenging times.

Mildred enjoyed taking road trips to visit family and friends. On her 91st birthday, she renewed her driver’s license in preparation for her road trips to visit her sisters.

Mildred always enjoyed spending time with family and friends at birthdays, weddings, informal gatherings and church potlucks. During the holidays she spent her Thanksgivings at the Smiths and Christmases at the Eubanks and Ostrowski’s.

She always enjoyed the food at these gatherings.  Her favorite meals included fried chicken and okra, she also occasionally enjoyed a good steak at one of the local steakhouses. Mildred especially enjoyed sharing a vanilla malt in the afternoon with her great grandson, Kent.

Mildred fondly called her many great grandchildren the “munchkins” and enjoyed receiving surprise packages from them. We will miss this wonderful loving woman of God who shared her love for the Lord by selflessly caring for others her entire life.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Smith; husband, Walter G. Kuzniar; sons, Walter Wade Kuzniar, and Oscar Kent Kuzniar; daughter, Alice Lynn Kuzniar; granddaughter, Misty Stubbs; sisters, Cornelia Jones; Dorothy Merrill; brothers, Carlton Smith, Lamar Smith, William Smith; and Malcom Smith.
