Rosa Lee Hoelscher, 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2021. She and her twin sister, Floy Lee, were born in Violet, Texas on February 17, 1931.They spent the next 84 years together making memories until the twin sister that entered the world first, departed to Heaven first, leaving Rosa Lee to continue on without her.

Rosa retired after working more than 40 years with PPG Industries as an executive secretary. During that time, she served in the Navy with the ASW unit #703 in Dallas, Texas for 10 years. After retiring, she volunteered for the Annaville Fire Department running a brush truck, fighting fires and having fun. Some of her favorite past times were archaeology, group traveling, and gardening. She was a devoted member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Violet, Texas.

Rosa Lee was one of 14 children. She was adventurous, bold, fearless, filterless, compassionate, passionate, spiritual, faithful, protective and above all else, she was loving. This was demonstrated through the investment of her time, talent, and donations to many, many organizations, one of her favorites, Turtle Patrol at the Padre Island National Seashore.

Rosa Lee was blessed to have wonderful care in her last months from her brother, Raymond (Judi); nephew, Stephen (Gwynetta), and nieces, Mikey Haas (Michael) and Patricia Gardiner (George). She also enjoyed Facetiming with her sister, Geri (John) and browsing through all the photos posted by her family and friends, especially the daily postings by her Goddaughter, Danielle (Paul).

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. and Regina; her twin sister, Floy Lee; her sisters, Leona, Dorothy, Mary Louise, and Tina; and her brothers, Walter, Jerome, William, Francis, Richard, and Edgar. She is survived by her sister, Geri (John) and her brother, Raymond (Judi) and many, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
