Virginia Jo Salinas, 62, was called home to be with our Lord on November 6, 2022. She was the eldest child, born on September 22, 1960, in Floydada, TX, to Jesus T. (Josie) Lopez and Josephine (Benny) Martinez.
Virginia worked as an H-E-B partner for 11 years before volunteering her time to Robstown ISD as a booster club member and P.I volunteer. Gina’s devotion was to her grandchildren. There wasn’t a story she told that didn’t involve her grandchildren. She loved cheering them on in all of their endeavors. There was never doubt regarding her attendance at any of their functions. She was known as “Mom” to friends of her children, and then happily became “Grandma Gina” to so many in the community, treating them like her own. Gina never hesitated to open her home nor heart to anyone. She loved without conditions and judgment.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gilbert Lopez.
She is survived by her only daughter and five sons, Jesie (Melissa), Elias (Celina), Bobbie Jo (Mark), Domingo (Victoria), Allen (Ashley); her siblings, Robert (Martha), Diana (Juan), Nancy (Fidel), Cathy (Candelario, III), Marina (Jason), Manuel (Perla), and Laura (Frank). She was a loving grandmother to Ryan, Elexie Jolynn, Analie Rain, Mallie Kay, Zaylie Fay, Darion Preslee, Paxton Simon, Dylan Jay, Lucas, Brody, Ryan, Peter, Jyzela, Xander King, Maddox Cole, Allen Jr., Makayla, Makynzea, Kamryn, Easton and great granddaughter, Alyson, as well as an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
