Wilford Roy Scott Sr., born January 11th, 1941 to Walter Alvin & Mildred Pearline Scott in Mercedes, Tx, passed away January 4th, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Tx. Wilford attended Tuloso-Midway until he was able to join the United States Air Force, working Air Freight where he obtained his G.E.D. He loved telling friends and loved ones stories of being stationed in Anchorage, Alaska and Okinawa, Japan. After leaving the Air Force, he returned home and met then later married the love of his life, Georgia Ann (Downen) Scott and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. They had three children: Darlene Sue (Scott) Eddins, Donna Lynn (Scott) Ramirez, Wilford “Scotty” Roy Scott Jr. Wilford spent 43 years employed at the local grain elevator (Interstate Grain) until retirement. Before and after retirement Wilford enjoyed his surf fishing, wood working and/or tinkering in his “shop” and gardening. Wilford welcomed three grandkids into the world whom he cherished and were his pride and joy; that is until his great grandkids came along. His final years, he loved getting his visits from all of them and made sure he took as many pictures as he could so he could always have them near. Wilford is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Mildred Scott, and his daughter, Darlene Sue Eddins. Wilford is survived by his wife Georgia Ann Scott; his kids Donna Lynn (Roman) Ramirez, and Wilford Roy Scott Jr; his grandkids Micheal (Kim) Scott, Andrew (Tricia) Eddins, and Krystal (Samuel) Deleon; and great grand kids Justin Eddins, Dalton Scott, David De Leon, Charlotte Scott, and Mary Scott as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilford died a husband, father, uncle, and “Paw Paw” as he was often called. He was a mountain of a man with an incredible work ethic. He will be dearly missed by all of us and he will always hold a special spot in our hearts. Visitation will be held January 12th 6-8pm at Sawyer George Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held January 13th at 2pm at Costal Bend Veterans Cemetery.
