Corpus Christi

Jerry Mark Haldeman (aka Buzz) passed away on September 21, 2022. He was born on October 6, 1961, in Austin, Texas to his parents, Jerry Gail Haldeman and Barbara Gail Falke Haldeman.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Gail Haldeman; mother, Barbara Gail Falke Hardin; stepmother, Patsy Nugent Haldeman; grandparents, John E. and Johnnie T. Haldeman and Fred and Fern Falke; father-in-law, Gordon L. Carpenter; and brothers in law, Kenneth Carpenter and Wendell Brooks.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Priscilla Carpenter Haldeman; daughters, Kayla Barrera (Blas), Terra Haldeman; sons, Jeremy Haldeman (Kelsey) and John Micah Haldeman (Ashlee); grandchildren, Ryland and Dixie Sandidge, Elijah and Ethan Barrera, and Jace and Miles Haldeman. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Toungate (Mark); brother, David Haldeman (Priscilla), and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins, and many friends. As well as his fur baby, Buddy and his granddog, Roosevelt.

Mark “Buzz” Haldeman was a passionate master craftsman of strong beliefs. He looked at every job as if he’s building or remodeling it for his family and friends. Buzz’s dad taught him that a customer should become a friend at the end of the job if you’ve done it right. His saying about building something was “it’s not worth doing if you don’t do it right.”

Buzz gives his Pastor, Robert Simmons credit for helping him turn his life around. He says my Pastor knows the Lord like I know my woodwork. “He taught me to live my life with integrity.” It was always in Buzz’s prayers – to have wisdom, integrity, and a good heart.

Buzz gives his wife Priscilla (aka “Mrs. Buzz”) of 40 years, credit for keeping him going, especially the last three years of his life. As a young boy growing up, his family would pack up from Austin and head to their vacation home in Rockport. He always prayed that he would find the right girl there and marry her and start a family. Buzz’s prayers were answered by God on October 21, 1983, in Rockport.
